ELMIRA, NY - October 30, 2015 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, host the Orlando Solar Bears in tonight's Drop The Puck on Hunger game as they partner with the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.

MAGNIFYING THE MATCHUP
Tonight the Jackals host the Orlando Solar Bears for the first time since April 4, 2014. In that matchup the Jackals handled the Solar Bears 5-1 with Colin Jacobs recording two assists in the win. Last year the Jackals traveled down to Florida to take on Orlando as a part of six games in seven nights. The Jackals won the first meeting 3-1 behind 40 saves by Sam Marotta and a game-winning shorthanded goal from Taylor Stefishen. Elmira dropped the final meeting 5-2 as they wrapped up their southern swing. The Jackals hold a 4-3-0 record all-time against the Solar Bears.
FAST FACTS
? Rookie forward Cason Hohmann has recorded six points (1G,5A) in the last two games. The Arlington, TX native leads the Jackals with seven points and is tied for second among ECHL rookies.
? Forward Colin Jacobs recorded his first career multi-goal game (2G) on Saturday in Reading and followed it up with another goal on Wednesday.
? Scott Jacklin notched his first career power-play goal on Wednesday in Reading. The rookie forward has two goals in four games to start his pro career.
? The Jackals have had ten rookies suit up for the squad through the first five games this year.
? Elmira signed forward Matt Harlow to a SPC yesterday. He appeared in 12 games with the Jackals at the end of last season and recorded four points. He joins Sam Marotta as the second member of the team to hail from Bridgewater, Mass.
