Freedom's Curley Named Post-Season All-Star

FLORENCE, Ky. - Freedom third baseman Chris Curley was voted to the Frontier League's Post-Season All-Star team, the league announced Thursday. The Ft. Mitchell native and Beechwood High School alum is in his first season with the Freedom.

Curley has played in all 92 Freedom games and is hitting .298 with 14 homers and 64 RBI with four games remaining in the season. He leads the team in most offensive categories including home runs and RBI and is second on the club in batting average.

Curley ranks sixth in the Frontier League in hits, is tenth in RBI and is in the top 20 in home runs and batting average. He was a reserve infielder on the West squad for the league's mid-season All-Star Game.

The 24-year-old is in his third season in professional baseball. He was signed by the Atlanta Braves as an undrafted free agent in 2009 and spent two seasons in the Braves organization with their rookie and Class A affiliates. Curley played collegiately at Campbellsville University.
