Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, announced they have renewed their relationship with the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) for another three years.
All four classifications of the WPIAL Baseball Championships will be held at CONSOL Energy Park in May 2012, 2013, 2014.
"We're elated with the opportunity to compete at a first class facility where its fan friendly, easily accessible, and a first-class facility," said Timothy O'Malley, executive director of the WPIAL.
The WPIAL sent requests for proposals to several facilities before inking a deal with the Washington Wild Things, according to O'Malley. "In addition to the first-class management team and the top notch facility, CONSOL Energy Park has guaranteed the dates for us. That was something that other facilities were unable to do, and that's critical in our decision making process."
CONSOL Energy Park is home of the Washington Wild Things professional baseball team, the California University of Pennsylvania Vulcans baseball team, and the Trinity Hillers baseball team.
