Washington Wild Things News Release
WASHINGTON, Pa. - No April Fools' here! The Washington Wild Things are selling off the seats from the first level of EQT Park on the team store website at https://www.wildthingsteamstore.com/products/eqt-park-stadium-seats or by calling 866-456-WILD (9453). The seats, which were originally installed at Three Rivers Stadium in 1994 in preparation for the 1994 MLB All-Star Game and removed prior to demolition of the former home of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, were installed after purchase by BSI for installation at then-Falconi Field in 2002.
These seats, brought to Washington after the final days of the iconic Pittsburgh venue, have been a part of the ballpark experience for more than three decades between venues. Fans and collectors now have the rare opportunity and FINAL opportunity to own an authentic piece of Pittsburgh sports history.
On the Wild Things' online team store, fans can purchase seat backs, seat bottoms, or full seat bundles (back, bottom and arms). Seat bottoms and backs will be sold as individual pieces if fans don't want the full bundle. Seat bottoms are $25, seat backs are $25 or fans can buy the full bundle for $75. Only season ticket holders who have already expressed interest in reserving their seats this offseason will be able to get a specific seat. All other fans and members of the community will receive parts at random after purchase.
Once purchased, fans will be notified when their order is ready for pick up at EQT Park. The purchase deadline is Wednesday, April 8 at 5 p.m. EDT. Seats will come disassembled and no re-assembly hardware such as bolts or anchors will be included. If re-assembly is desired, buyers must do that on their own. Seat sales are while supplies last and all sales are final.
The 24th season of Wild Things baseball in the MLB-partnered Frontier League begins Friday, May 7 on the road and at home with the homer opener scheduled for Friday, May 15 against the Schaumburg Boomers at EQT Park. For updates, other information and more, visit washingtonwildthings.com or follow the team on social media at facebook.com/WashingtonWildThings or @WashWildThings on other platforms. Single game tickets are available now and the club's promo schedule has been released. You can buy tickets.
