
Wild Things Sign Ex-Florence Y'alls RHP, Brewers Farmhand Aaron Rund

WASHINGTON, Pa. - It's officially the month the Wild Things will report for camp in preparation for the 2026 season and the roster that will start camp for the club is continuing to grow. The team made the signing of former Florence Y'alls right-handed pitcher and former Milwaukee Brewers farmhand Aaron Rund official with the Frontier League today.
Rund began his professional career in 2023 with the Florence Y'alls and appeared in 11 games for the team. In 22.1 innings, he allowed just eight earned runs from the bullpen, walked eight and struck out 24. He had his contract purchased by the Brewers during the offseason and ended up pitching the next two seasons with the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
In 2024, Rund was 4-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 39 bullpen appearances. He finished 16 games and saved eight and struck out 56 batters against 24 walks in 57 innings, during which he allowed only 45 hits. Last season, he made 36 appearances and had 19 games finished to go with five saves, a 2-4 record and a 5.09 ERA. He fanned 44 in 46 innings of work.
The righty finished his collegiate career with three seasons at Campbell University, where he was teammates with Angels' shortstop Zach Neto, Pirates' farmhand Thomas Harrington and former Wild Things' lefty Ryan Chasse. At Campbell. He had his best season in 2023, going 5-1 with a 3.84 ERA in 21 appearances from the pen. He had five saves and worked 61.0 innings with 71 strikeouts against 25 walks. He was 5-1 in 2022 with a 5.43 ERA in 15 games (13 starts). In 58 innings that season, he struck out 53 and walked 26. In his first season at the school in 2021, he was 2-0 in 10 games (three starts) and had a save in 31.2 innings to go with a K/BB ratio of 3.20. He earned the win in 2022 in the Big South Championship game on May 28 and was the Sunday starter that season.
Rund pitched a season at Sacramento City College in 2019, going 4-1 with a save, 58 strikeouts and a 3.92 ERA. In 2020, he tossed 29 innings with a 2.17 ERA and 35 strikeouts, going 6-2 on the year, his second and final at Sacramento City College. He was a letterman at Will C. Wood High School.
The 24th season of Wild Things baseball in the MLB-partnered Frontier League begins Friday, May 7 on the road and at home with the homer opener scheduled for Friday, May 15 against the Schaumburg Boomers at EQT Park.
