(EVANSVILLE, Indiana) - The Evansville Otters are proud to announce that Lance Adler has been named the 2011 Frontier League Groundskeeper of the Year.

"I am excited for Lance and all the work he puts in at Historic Bosse Field," said general manager Liam Miller. "It is a well deserved award and nice to see not only people in the Tri-State area recognizing his work but all of the Frontier League as well."

Lance has been working with the Evansville Otters since 2007, beautifying the oldest field in the Frontier League for baseball and other events ever since.

Just last week, Adler converted the baseball diamond into a football field as Reitz Memorial hosted Belleville in the first football game at Bosse Field since 1971.

"Lance's devotion to Bosse Field is evident," said Otters owner Bill Bussing. "In fact, it's an Adler family tradition extending over three generations. His work last week in converting the field for football and then back again was nothing short of remarkable. But it didn't surprise me--Lance is a consummate professional."

When not at the iconic ballpark, Lance works for his own company of Adler Irrigation Systems in the city of Evansville.

Adler will be back at Bosse Field with his grounds crew (Grady Adler, Wes Brown, and Jon Pfettscher) on Thursday night for the final baseball home game of the 2011 season. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CDT as the Otters look for a sweep against the Normal CornBelters. It is Thirsty Thursday with $1 beer special all night and postgame fireworks sponsored by Indiana Hoosier Lottery.
