Four-Game Winning Streak Ends in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies 5-2 Friday night at Rabobank Arena. The loss snaps Utah's four-game winning streak and will make them wait until at least Saturday to clinch their fifth-straight playoff spot.

Bakersfield took a 1-0 lead 4:32 into the first period and never looked back. Utah made it 2-1 29 seconds after the Condors made it 2-0 as Mitch Wahl raced up the left side and centered Colin Vock for his ninth of the year.

Trailing 3-1 at the start of the second, Kory Falite (8) slammed in a five-on-three power-play goal off of a rebound as Mitch Wahl and Ryan Turek setup the chance at 11:20 of the period. Utah continued on a five-on-four, but was unable to get the equalizer.

Bakersfield added a five-on-three power-play goal with 25 seconds left in the second period and a power-play goal in the third to make the contest 5-2.

Mitch Wahl (two assists) and Kory Falite (one goal, one assist) each had multiple-points for Utah.

Utah resumes action Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 5:05 p.m. in Stockton.

The Grizzlies return home to host Colorado Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24 with Colorado for the final home games of the regular season and Anti-Tobacco Weekend.
