Everblades Battle Back for 3-2 Victory Over Jackals

Elmira, N.Y. - Cedric McNicoll scored two goals in the third period on Friday night at First Arena, lifting the Florida Everblades (32-25-2-5) past the Elmira Jackals (38-22-2-2), 3-2.

After a scoreless first period, Jean Bourbeau snapped in a feed from Jimmy Martin at 2:07 of the second, putting Elmira in front, 1-0.

Scott Pitt drove in a rebound off a shot from Brandon MacLean, evening the score, 1-1, at 6:12 of the middle frame.

Mike Radja put Elmira in front at 7:50 of the third period, tipping in a loose puck on a scramble in front and giving the Jackals a 2-1 edge.

McNicoll scored goals 2:02 apart in the final frame to carry the Everblades past the Jackals. He struck first at 10:24, snapping a shot in from the slot past Brian Stewart to even the score, 2-2, with a power-play goal. McNicoll then stickhandled in at 12:26 and shot a puck from the left circle past Stewart's stick to give Florida its first lead, 3-2.

Stewart (22-11-1-0) made 33 saves on 36 shots, suffering his first loss since Feb. 18. Muse (11-4-1-2) turned aside 34 shots in the victory.
