IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals welcome the Florida Everblades to First Arena for the first time since Oct. 21, with the opening face-off set for 7:35 p.m. The Jackals, currently on a four-game winning streak, lead the Atlantic Division by four points over the Wheeling Nailers. Elmira enters the action coming off of a 5-1 win over the Toledo Walleye on Saturday night at First Arena. Florida, which is fourth in the South Division and seventh in the Eastern Conference, has won five of its last six games and has scored eight goals in each of its last two outings.
PLAYOFF BERTH IN SIGHT
Elmira's magic numbers to prevent teams currently outside of the playoffs from catching the Jackals in the standings and thus clinch a playoff spot are seven points over the Chicago Express and four points over the Reading Royals. The Jackals could earn a position in the playoffs as early as Saturday night with two wins over Florida and Express losses to Trenton and Toledo. Elmira has made the playoffs in each of its first four ECHL seasons.
GAZLEY GROWS POINT TOTALS
Dustin Gazley's 72 points are third most in the ECHL and are four behind Chad Costello's league-leading 76 points. His 51 assists are also third in the league, five shy of Justin Bowers' ECHL-best 56 assists. Gazley's point and assist totals are the highest among all rookies, as the Novi, Mich. native has points in 24 of the last 26 contests.
