Duchesne Makes NHL Debut

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announce signing goaltender Jeremy Duchesne made his NHL debut last night with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Duchesne came off the bench for 16:44 in a 6-4 Flyers loss to the New York Islanders. The native of Silver Springs, Maryland stopped three of the four shots he faced.

By playing last night, Duchesne becomes the 439th ECHL player to see game action in the NHL.

Earlier this afternoon, Duchesne was reassigned to the American Hockey League's Adirondack Phantoms and is expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Phantoms play the Syracuse Crunch.

In 19 appearances with the K-Wings, Duchesne has earned a record of 9-4-3-2 and has a goals against average of 3.20 and a save percentage of 0.909.

Duchesne was recently called-up to the American Hockey League's Adirondack Phantoms. In four games with the Phantoms, Duchesne has posted a GAA of 2.94 and a save percentage of 0.899.

While the K-Wings have had 25 players sent up to the AHL this season, Duchesne becomes the first ECHL K-Wings player and the first K-Wing player since the 1999-00 season to start the season in Kalamazoo and play in the in the NHL in the same season.

The K-Wings will continue their home stand this Friday, April 2nd with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Toledo Walleye on Celebration! Cinema Night. Friday night is also a Frugal Fan Friday, which features $1 beer and $1 hot dogs. All fans coming to the contest will also receive a FREE 2009-10 K-Wings team poster courtesy of Fed-Ex Office.
