Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Joey Ryan has been re-assigned from the Marlies to the Royals. In other separate transactions, goaltender Andrew Engelage, forward Alex Berry, and defenseman Todd Perry have been recalled to the Marlies from the Royals.
This is the fourth time that Engelage, a first year pro from Oshawa, Ontario, has been recalled to the Marlies. In eleven appearances with the Royals this season, Engelage has compiled a record of 7-3-0-0 with a 3.89 goals against average and a .887 save percentage. In nine games with the Marlies this season, Engelage has gone 2-5-0 with 4.17 gaa and .863 save percentage. Perry, a third year pro from Ingleside, Ontario, who was assigned to Reading from Toronto on March 23, 2010, played five games with the Royals and registered one assist. In twenty-six games with the Marlies this year, Perry has scored one goal, assisted on two others (three points) and picked up thirty-five penalty minutes. Berry, a first year pro from Danvers, Massachusetts, was assigned from the Marlies to the Royals for the third time this season on Wednesday, and he played in Reading's 5-3 loss to Elmira that night. In five games with the Royals, Berry has picked up five assists and two penalty minutes. In fifty-four games this year with the Marlies, Berry has scored three goals, assisted on four others (seven points) and registered ninety-seven penalty minutes.
The Royals continue their efforts to earn a playoff spot in the American Conference on Friday (April 2, 2010 @ 7:35 pm) when the team closes out the season-long six game road trip at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia against the Wheeling Nailers. The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will begin at 7:05 pm.
