Cincinnati's Ehgoetz Wins Sportsmanship Award

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Friday announced that Barret Ehgoetz of the Cincinnati Cyclones is the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award for 2009-10 as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches.

The award is presented annually to the player who is judged to have exhibited the best sportsmanship combined with a high standard of playing ability.

Mark Derlago and Tyler Spurgeon of the Idaho Steelheads were the runners-up for the award.

The ECHL will announce the CCM Rookie of the Year winner on Monday, along with the winners of the Reebok Plus Performer of the Year and Leading Scorer awards.

Ehgoetz leads Cincinnati with 40 assists and 63 points and is tied for second on the team with 23 goals. His 23 goals are a new career high, while his 63 points is one shy of his career high set last season. The 30 year old has tallied 263 points (95g-168a) in 333 career ECHL games with Cincinnati and Utah.
