Deis and Weiman acquired in Trade

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have traded forward Phil Lewandowski to the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for forward Tyler Dice and defenseman Shawn Weiman.

Dice returns to the organization after playing for the Mobile Mysticks during the 2001-02 season where he tallied 7 goals and 14 assists for 21 points in 20 games for the Mysticks.

The Calgary, Alberta native spent last season with the Grrrowl where he tallied 62 points in 72 games and began the season with the Greenville Grrrowl before being acquired by Cincinnati in December.

Weiman began the season with the Augusta Lynx before being dealt to Cincinnati through Texas. In 42 games with Augusta, the defenseman tallied a goal and 17 assists and added three points in 12 games with the Cyclones.

Lewandowski goes to Cincinnati with 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points in 44 games with Gwinnett. The rookie out of Ferris State University shared 11th in scoring with the Gladiators and tallied the game winning shootout goal in two games with Gwinnett.

Weiman and Deis should be available for the Gladiators 7:05 p.m. start at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Tuesday, March 9th against the Louisiana IceGators.
