
Everblades remain in second after weekend split

The Florida Everblades picked up a series split at TECO Arena this past weekend after they defeated the Columbus Cottonmouths 2-1 on Friday night and fell to the Cottonmouths 4-2 on Saturday night. Florida ranks second in the ECHL's Southern Division and has gone 5-2-1 in their last eight games. Florida forward Brian McCullough ranks in second place in the ECHL in scoring with 73 points. Everblades regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com, www.ABC-7.com and www.NBC-2.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Dan Guenther calling the play-by-play. The games can be also be heard inside TECO arena on 96.5 FM. 'Blade Talk' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage on Sportsradio 770 AM airs from 6:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday nights. The show will be live on remote at the Fort Myers location tonight with player guests forward Tom Buckley and defenseman Mark White. The ECHL's championship trophy, the Kelly Cup, will also be on hand.
UPCOMING EVENTS/PROMOTIONS AT TECO ARENA: The Blades host the Augusta Lynx on Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:30 PM. The ECHL's Championship trophy, the Kelly Cup will be at the game on Tuesday night and the first 5,000 people through the doors will receive a Blades team poster card. The Harlem Globetrotters visit TECO Arena on Friday, March 5th. GAME NOTES: This will be the fourth meeting between the two clubs this season. The Everblades are 2-1-0 versus the Lynx this year and 26-9-3 all-time. Florida upended Augusta 4-3 in a shootout on February 20th in Augusta. The Lynx are ranked 6th in the central division.

GAME NOTES: This will be the fourth meeting of the season between the two clubs this season. Florida is 2-1-0 versus the Seawolves so far this year and 11-3-1 all-time including a 4-1-0 record in Biloxi.

ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades player of the week nomination is defenseman Mike Torney. The Raynham, Massachusetts native notched the game winning goal in his first game as an Everblades on Friday night and earned the #1 star of the game.
ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades goaltender of the week nomination is Jeff Maund. The Mississauga, Ontario native went 1-1-0 this past week including a 2-1 win on Friday night.
