Johnstown Chiefs News Release
The Johnstown Chiefs (33-17-6; 72 PTS; 4th Northern div.) moved up to fourth place in the Northern division after they went 3-1-0 last week. The Chiefs lost in Trenton on Wednesday but followed that up by winning three straight games with a pair of victories over Toledo followed up by defeating Trenton on Sunday. The Chiefs trail third place Peoria by two points. Fifth place Reading trails the Chiefs by two points. The Chiefs and Reading will play Wednesday night, at Reading.

GAME #53 (2/25/04) TRENTON 5 - Johnstown 2 Currie 26 Saves
The Johnstown Chiefs three game winning streak was snapped Wednesday night as they fell to the Trenton Titans 5-2 at the Sovereign Bank Arena. The Chiefs jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a first period power play goal by Steve Hildenbrand and an unassisted second period tally by Brent Bilodeau. Trenton would tie up the game in the second period with goals by P.J. Martin and B.J. Kilbourne. Former Chief, Ryan Crane scored the go ahead goal 9:17 into the 3rd period. Trenton would add two more goals, including an empty net goal, in the final three minutes of the contest to seal the victory. Chiefs goaltender David Currie suffered the loss making 26 saves. Trenton goaltender Andrew Allen made 29 saves in the contest.
GAME #54 (2/27/04) Johnstown 3 - TOLEDO 2 Forget Two Goals
Dominic Forget scored twice, including the game-winner in the third, to lead the Johnstown Chiefs past the Toledo Storm, 3-2 Friday night at the Toledo Sports Arena. Forget registered the lone goal of the first period and snapped a 2-2 tie early in the third, scoring just 24 seconds after Toledo had knotted the score. The effort marked the first two-goal performance for Forget since March 11, 2003. Brent Bilodeau added a goal for Johnstown, which has won four of its last five games. Dimitri Patzold made 32 saves, including 18 in the opening frame, to improve his record to 2-0-0. Paul Ballantyne provided a goal and an assist for the Storm, Jimi St. John recorded 28 saves in a losing effort.
GAME #55 (2/28/04) JOHNSTOWN 6 - Toledo 5 (SO) Kelly Goal, Three Assists
The Johnstown Chiefs came back from a three goal third period deficit to defeat the visiting Toledo Storm 6-5, in a shootout, Saturday night at the War Memorial Arena. Shawn Mather scored two goals for the Chiefs in the contest. Ian Manzano, Steve Hildenbrand and Dominic Forget also scored for the Chiefs.Toledo got a pair of goals from Marco Charpentier and tallies from Paul Ballantyne, Nick Parillo and Jim Abbott. The Chiefs won the shootout by a 3-2 score. Chiefs goaltender David Currie made 19 saves in the contest. Storm goaltender Jimi St. John made 48 saves.
GAME #56 (2/29/04) JOHNSTOWN 3 - Trenton 2 Patzold 28 Saves
The Johnstown Chiefs won their third straight game Sunday afternoon when they defeated the Trenton Titans 3-2.Trenton jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Matt Zultek power play goal 7:21 into the game. The Chiefs would answer by scoring the next three goals as Steve Hildenbrand, Jason Notermann and Dominic Forget all scored to give the Chiefs a 3-1 lead. Trenton would close to within one goal when Scott Kirton scored on the power play at 15:53 in the second period. Chiefs goaltender Dimitri Patzold improved his record to 3-0-0 making 28 saves. Andrew Allen suffered the loss for Trenton making 34 saves.

Wednesday night, the Chiefs travel to Reading as they take on the fourth place Royals (31-17-8, 70 PTS; 5th Northern div.). The Chiefs are 4-3-0 against the Royals this season. The home team has won each of the seven games this season between the two teams. The Chiefs outscored the Royals 14-9 this season. The Royals have lost two straight games and are 7-2-1 in their last ten games.

The Chiefs will play the ECHL's best team, Wheeling Nailers (42-13-2, 86 PTS; 1st Northern div.) Friday night, in Johnstown and Sunday afternoon in Wheeling. The Chiefs are 4-1-0 against the Nailers this season. Wheeling is currently on a seven game winning streak and has lost just one out of their last twelve games. The Nailers are 25-4-2 at home this season.

Saturday night, the Chiefs will host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies (38-13-5, 81 PTS; 2nd Northern div.). The Chiefs are 2-3-1 against the Bullies this season. Atlantic City is 6-2-2 in their last ten games. The Bullies currently trail first place Wheeling by four points and lead third place Peoria by seven points.
