RECAP OF GAMES PLAYED LAST WEEK:
2/25/04- Atlantic City 4 @ BOMBERS 2- Atlantic City rallied from a 2-1 deficit with a three-goal third period to prevail at the Nutter Center on Wednesday. Preston Mizzi, Pierre-Luc Sleigher, Aaron Foster, and Luke Curtin converted for the Boardwalk Bullies, while Jason Crain and Grady Moore netted first period power-play goals for the Bombers.
2/27/04- BOMBERS 3 @ Trenton 4- The Trenton Titans scored three goals in the first 5:44 of an eventual 4-3 victory over the Dayton Bombers at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey Friday night. The Bombers received goals from ex-Trenton Titan Jason Deskins, Dody Wood, and Miguel Delisle. Chad Theuer recorded two assists for the Bombers in the setback, including one on Wood's first goal as a Dayton Bomber. Prior to the game, defenseman Nate Kiser and forward Scott Cameron were summoned by the Bombers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
2/28/04- BOMBERS 1 @ Roanoke 2- Carl Mallette scored two goals 16 seconds apart late in the third period to help the Roanoke Express rally to beat the Dayton Bombers 2-1 at the Roanoke Civic Center Saturday night. Jason Deskins tallied his second goal in as many games for the Bombers. Deskins' goal came right after the Bombers had killed an Express power play in the first period. Deskins received a pass from Olivier Proulx, then muscled the puck past goalie David Belitski for the score, his 19th of the season. The 1-0 Bombers' lead held up until 17:03 of the third when Mallette deflected Duncan Dalmao's power play blueline shot into the net, then tallied 16 seconds later on a flip shot over goalie Andrew Penner. Penner made 37 saves for the Bombers in his team-high eighth straight start.
2/29/04- BOMBERS 3 @ Roanoke 4- Dan Carlson broke a 2-2 tie 8:15 into the second period on the power play to help the Roanoke Express toward a 4-3 victory over the Dayton Bombers at the Roanoke Civic Center Sunday afternoon. Riley Cote, Olivier Proulx, and Janne Jokila scored for the Bombers. Jokila also recorded an assist. Despite an undermanned squad- at one time in the game, the Bombers were playing with just seven forwards and four defensemen- the Bombers outshot the Express 47-28, 26-2 in the third period. Carl Mallette, Rick Kowalsky, and Rob Snowball had the other Roanoke goals.
