
Cyclones Go 1-2 in Week One

The Cyclones sandwiched a pair of losses around a win in Dayton on Saturday night. The team lost their home opener on Friday vs. Peoira and dropped a Sunday afternoon road game in Johnstown on opening weekend.

Friday, October 17-Cyclones 3 vs. Peoria 4: The Cyclones dropped a 4-3 decision to the Peoria Rivermen on Opening Night at U.S. Bank Arena. The Clones held a 3-2 lead with 1:53 left in the third before Peoria's Alex Kim and Brendan Brooks broke the hearts of the 4,000-plus in attendance. Mark Concannon scored the first Cyclones goal of the season at the 13:12 mark of the first period. Garrett Prosofsky and Jason Norrie also scored for the Cyclones.
Saturday, October 18-Cyclones 5 at Dayton 3: The Clones won for the first time this season on Saturday in Dayton. The Clones took control of a back and forth game in the third period when rookies John Cronin and Brian Passmore scored to give the Clones the win. Rookie Michael Chin scored his first pro goal in the first period. Defensemen Josh Harrold and Ryan Brindley also scored.
Sunday, October 19-Cyclones 1 at Johnstown 6: The Clones' first road trip ended with a thud as the team fell to the Chiefs in J-town. Mike Casselman scored his first goal of the season for the lone Clones marker. Casselman was also the ninth different goal scorer in three Cyclones games this season. Thirteen of the Cyclones' 16 skaters have scored a point in the team's first three games.
This Week
Wednesday, Oct 22-Toledo at Cincinnati
The Clones meet the defending Brabham Cup champions for the first time this season on Wednesday at U.S. Bank Arena. Cincinnati beat Toledo three games to one last spring to capture the Northwest Division Playoff Championship.
The new Storm come to Cincinnati with a new coach (Steve Harrison) and a new star player (Adam Edinger). Nick Parillo scored two goals and added an assist over opening weekend as the Storm went 2-0.
Friday, Oct 24-Roanoke at Cincinnati
The Clones continue a three-game homestand vs. the Roanoke Express on Friday. The game marks the Clones first non-divisional game of the season.
The Express are in the Southern Division of the Eastern Conference. The Express went 0-2 on opening weekend, dropping games to Long Beach and Wheeling.
Saturday, Oct 25-Dayton at Cincinnati
The Clones topped the Bombers in their first meeting on Saturday in Dayton.
Last season the Clones held an 8-2-1 record vs. the Bombers.
Clones to Watch
-Garrett Prosofsky played his 100th career game on Saturday in Dayton.
-Mark Concannon, Brian Passmore, Michael Chin and John Cronin all scored their first pro goals over the weekend.
