Condors Celebrate Red Ribbon Week

Upcoming week of October 20th - October 26th:

· Monday, October 20th - Condors Director of Community Relations & Development John Ayre attended Mt. Vernon Elementary School's Kick Off to Red Ribbon Week Celebration at 8:30 am. Red Ribbon Week is a nationwide event that rewards children for saying no to drugs. Mt. Vernon Elementary is located at 2161 Potomac Avenue.

· Friday, October 24th - The Bakersfield Condors conclude Red Ribbon Week by attending Panama Buena Vista School's Red Ribbon Awards Ceremony from 11:30am - 12:30 pm. The Condors will be handing out certificates of achievement to children for participating in the week's activities. Panama Buena Vista School is located at 6547 Buena Vista Road.

· Friday, October 24th - Join the Condors as they host the San Diego Gulls for KGET-TV 17, KRAB Radio & American Business Machines' ThunderStix Giveaway Night. Everyone in attendance will receive a pair of Condors Thunderstix. Tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden box office, open weekdays from 10:00am - 6:00pm with extended hours on event days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.

· Saturday, October 25th - The Bakersfield Condors play host to the Idaho Steelheads for KBID 1350 AM Ken Baker Book Signing Night. Former Condors back-up goaltender, resident author and miracle man Ken Baker makes his return to Bakersfield to autograph copies of his chronicle of the 2001-2002 season "They Don't Play Hockey in Heaven." The night is also the first T.H.I.N.K - Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge, presented by 101.5 KGFM, Paramount Farms & ARRC Technology. The program allows students to earn terrace tickets to the game through exceptional performance. The game will feature an on-ice auction of select game used equipment all worn by Baker. With all proceeds to benefit the Pituitary Association, of which Baker is on the Board of Directors. Tonight's game is the first chance for season ticket holders to meet the team. All season ticket holders are invited to the lower level to meet the team following the game. The doors open at 6:00pm with the puck drop at 7:00pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden box office, open weekdays from 10:00am - 6:00pm with extended hours on event days.
