Overview: The Cyclones extended their winning streak to five games with a 3-1 win over the Kalamazoo Wings on Sunday afternoon, and have extended their lead over the Wings to seven points in the Central Division. Cincinnati is in the midst of a four-game road trip, and Friday marks their second of three consecutive three games in three days series.

Sunday Afternoon Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (33-21-2-0) pushed their winning streak to five games with a 3-1 win over the Kalamazoo Wings on Sunday afternoon. Forwards Shawn O'Donnell and Brandon McNally, along with defenseman Chris Leone netted the goals for the Cyclones, who extend their lead over the Wings to seven points. The Cyclones were outshot, 37-29 on the evening, with goaltender Jonas Johansson stopping 36 in the win.

Saturday Night Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (32-21-2-0) earned a 5-2 win over the Quad City Mallards on Saturday night. Forwards Winston Day Chief, Mike Barrett, Rob De Fulviis and Alex Kile, along with defenseman Eric Knodel scored the goals for the Cyclones, who have won four games in a row. The Cyclones were outshot, 33-28 on the evening, with goaltender Jason Kasdorf stopping 31 shots in the win.

Last Friday Night Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (31-21-2-0) overcame a two-goal deficit to collect their first win of the season over the Indy Fuel on Friday night, 4-3. Forward Winston Day Chief recorded his second hat trick of the season, while forward Justin Vaive added the game winner late in the third. Cincinnati was outshot, 34-30 on the evening, with goaltender Jonas Johansson steering aside 32 in the win.

Previewing Indy: The Fuel have dropped four in a row, and now find themselves four points back of the fourth and final playoff spot in the ECHL's Central Division. After playing seven of the previous eight games at home, Indy will play five of the next seven on the road, where they have a record of 12-15-2-1. Special teams have been amongst the League leaders all season, as they currently boast the top home and overall power play percentage in the ECHL, clicking at 24.8% (28/113) and 22.6% (49/217) conversion rates respectively. They are led by forward Ryan Rupert who has accounted for 13 goals and 28 assists through 51 games this season. He is followed by forwards Darian Dziurzynski (21g, 16a) and Michael Neal (16g, 21a) who round out the top three. In goal, Matt Tomkins leads the way with a 9-8-0-0 record along with a 3.28 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.

Inside the Series: Cincinnati earned their first win of the season over the Fuel last Friday, however Indy still leads the season series, 1-4-1-0. Despite the record, the Cyclones and Fuel have been close all season long, with all but one game having been decided by a single goal.

Next Game Preview: Cincinnati heads to Ft. Wayne to battle the Komets for the seventh time this season. The Cyclones are 4-2-0-0 against the Komets in 2017-18, and the teams are scheduled to meet twice more this season.

Cyclones Acquire Beukeboom: The Cincinnati Cyclones have acquired defenseman Brock Beukeboom from the Worcester Railers in exchange for cash considerations. Beukeboom has appeared in 41 games this season between the Railers and Greenville Swamp Rabbits, accounting for a pair of goals and nine assists.Drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Beukeboom spent the previous four seasons with the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada where he totaled seven goals in 17 assists in 96 career games. The Greenwich, CT, native played his junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), spending time with the Guelph Storm, Niagara Ice Dogs, and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds from 2008-13, appearing in 279 games and amassing 16 goals and 67 assists, along with 233 minutes in penalties in that time.

Cyclones Add McCormick: The Cyclones have signed forward Darren McCormick from the Fayetteville Marksmen of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). A native of West Seneca, NY, McCormick has split this season between the Marksmen and the SPHL's Macon Mayhem, accounting for 22 goals and 14 assists in 42 games played. He turned pro late in the 2016-17 season, seeing time with the Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL and the now-defunct Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, totaling four goals and an assist in nine games between the two clubs. McCormick played collegiately at SUNY-Coutland, amassing 43 goals and 50 assists in 75 career games at the school.

Karabacek, Kile Recalled to Rochester: The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Buffalo Sabres and American Hockey League's (AHL) Rochester Americans, have announced that forwards Alex Kile and Vaclav Karabacek have been recalled by the Americans. Karabacek has appeared in 16 games with the Cyclones this season, accounting for three assists. He missed time from November to February with an injury, however has appeared in nine games and dished out a pair of assists since returning. Kile has skated in 32 games with the Cyclones this season, totaling 11 goals and nine assists in that time including five multi-point efforts.

O'Donnell Returns: Cyclones forward Shawn O'Donnell has been released from his Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO) with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) and has been returned to Cincinnati. The Halifax, NS, native only appeared in one game with the Wolf Pack, having suffered an injury in his first game. O'Donnell has appeared 28 games with the Cyclones and ranks second on the team with 36 points (13g, 23a). He is currently on a four-game point streak for the Cyclones (3g, 2a), and rode an 11-game heater from November 18-December 29 (4g, 13a).

FOUR!: Saturday night marked the 25th time this season that Cincinnati has scored four or more goals in a game, and the 'Clones now have a 23-1-1-0 record when lighting the lamp at least four times. Additionally, Cincinnati is successful when allowing fewer than four, boasting a 28-10-1-0 record when allowing three or fewer.

Power Surge: The Cyclones have at least one power play goal in 14 of their last 19 games, going 20-for-63 in that stretch (31.7%). They also have the second-ranked power play unit in the League overall with a 20.9% power play conversion rate (45/215).

Packed Schedule: Cincinnati will have their hands full in the second half of the season, playing their final 16 games over a stretch of 41 days, which is an average of one games every 2.25 days. Additionally, Cincinnati will play 10 of those 16 games against the Central Division, where they are 21-13-2-0 so far this season. Including this weekend, Cincinnati has four more stretches of three games in three days, two stretches of four games in five days, and one stretch of seven games in nine days.

Finishing What They Started: The Cyclones have a 23-1-0-0 record when leading through two periods this season. This is a continuing trend from last season, when the Cyclones were 23-1-3-1 when leading after one, and 26-1-2-0 when leading after 40 minutes.

New Affiliation: This offseason, the Cyclones, in conjunction with the National Hockey League's (NHL) Buffalo Sabres, announced a new affiliation agreement. For Cincinnati, the move comes following a 10-year partnership with the Nashville Predators, while the Sabres recently concluded a two-year relationship with the now-defunct Elmira Jackals. This affiliation will be a reunion of sorts for the cities of Cincinnati and Buffalo, as the Sabres' American Hockey League (AHL) Affiliate from 1971-1974 was the Cincinnati Swords. The Rochester Americans will serve as Cincinnati's new AHL affiliate, and have been the AHL affiliate of the Sabres since 2011. This is not the first time Cincinnati and Rochester have been affiliated, as the two clubs teamed up in 2010-11 when the Americans were affiliated with the Florida Panthers.
