BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Condors raised $32,200 for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) when the Condors turned back the clock last Saturday and wore Bakersfield Fog jerseys as they recorded a 3-1 win over the Phoenix Roadrunners. The event was sponsored by Bud Light (Advance Beverage).

The post-game auction began with two former Condors #44 Kevin Barrett whose jersey brought in $1,000 and #26 Glen Mears went for $1,600.

The highest bid of the night came when Kevin St. Jacques' sweater went for $4,000 and broke the team's individual jersey record, which was set at $3,800 by netminder Ryan Munce during the Team USA jersey auction in February. Munce's Fog jersey went for $3,000 and Eric Neilson's sweater for $2,800. The Bakersfield Fog was the predecessor to the Condors, playing in the Bakersfield Convention Center for three seasons from 1995 until 1998.

This jersey auction was the highest total in team history followed by the 1980 Team USA Miracle on Ice Jerseys in March of 2005 at $25,125, the Veteran's Day Jerseys in November of 2002 at $23,300 and USA Olympic Team Jerseys in February of 2006 raised $23,250.

"The money raised from the jersey auction will help CASA support a case manager to supervise 30 new CASA volunteers and in turn stand up for 40 to 60 abused and neglected children," said Maggie Cushine, Resource Development Manager. "CASA is overwhelmed by the generosity shown at Saturday's game. Thank you Condors and fans!" All proceeds from the Fog jersey auction will benefit CASA. In the past 12 years CASA of Kern County has served 1,167 children. For more information on how you can make a difference, call 661-631-2272.

In eight years the Condors have raised more than $300,000 in jersey auctions alone. In all, the Condors have donated more than $1.5 million in goods, services and money to non-profit organizations since 1998.

The Bakersfield Condors will face off against the Utah Grizzlies Wednesday night at 6:05 pm in Utah. The Condors will head to Stockton on Friday to face the Thunder at 7:30pm and return to Bakersfield on Saturday to host the Alaska Aces at 7:00pm in the final game of the regular season as Bright House Networks, 101.5 KGFM and Superkart Racing presents SpongeBob Squarepants.
