Beauchemin named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

TRENTON, NJ (April 4, 2006) - The ECHL announced on Tuesday that Trenton Titans goaltender Rejean Beauchemin has been named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for March 27 - April 2.
The Winnipeg, Ontario native went 2-0-1 in the Titans' three home games this week with a 1.91 goals against average and a .955 save percentage in helping Trenton raise its record to 30-34-5.
Beauchemin began the week on Wednesday, March 29, making 36 saves through overtime and stopping four of five in the shootout to down the Johnstown Chiefs 4-3. The 6-2, 186-pound 21-year old made it two in a row on March 31 with 46 saves in a 3-2 victory over the Toledo Storm. On April 1, Beauchemin turned away 45 of 46 shots, including six in overtime, and two of five shooters in the shootout in falling to the Storm, 2-1.
Selected in the sixth round (191st overall) by Philadelphia in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and under contract to the Flyers, Beauchemin is 4-2-3 with a goals against of 2.13 and a save percentage of .941 in his last nine starts for the Titans. He is 8-16-4 with a goals against of 2.94 and a save percentage of .914 in 29 games for Trenton. He also been called up four times to the American Hockey League's Philadelphia Phantoms where he is 3-7-1 with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.
Beauchemin played three seasons with Prince Albert in the Western Hockey League from 2002-05 where he was 63-60-11 in 150 games and finished as the team's career leader in goals-against average (2.60), save percentage (.904) and shutouts (12). In 2003-04, he was 30-21-6 and set team records with a goals-against average of 2.32 and six shutouts while also being named as the Humanitarian of the Year.
The Titans finish the regular season on Saturday, April 8 as they face off against the Reading Royals at 7:00pm at the Sovereign Bank Arena.
