
Wranglers smoke Roadrunners 7-1

Phoenix, AZ - The Las Vegas Wranglers (51-13-6, 108 points) beat the Phoenix Roadrunners (19-46-5, 43 points) 7-1 at the U.S. Airways Arena on Tuesday night. Las Vegas forward Chris Neiszner scored two goals in ten seconds during the third period as the Wranglers won their final road game of the season and their seventh straight road game overall. Forwards Nick Anderson, Sean O'Connor, Steve Crampton, Charles Linglet and Matt Dzieduszycki each scored as Las Vegas finished the regular season with a 25-8-3 record. Winger Shawn Limpright returned from the injured reserve list with three assists on the night. Goalie Mike McKenna made 20 saves, moving to 17-2-1 on the season. Phoenix extended their winless streak to 14 games at 0-12-2. Alaska's 3-2 victory over Fresno will keep the Wranglers one point behind the Aces for first place in the West Division. Las Vegas will host Long Beach on Friday and Phoenix on Saturday.
In the first period Las Vegas jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Winger Sean O'Connor started the scoring with his 19th of the season at 4:32. O'Connor scored the power-play goal off a rebound of a Shawnn Limpright shot. The Wranglers extended their lead to 2-0 when Matt Dzieduszycki scored off a 3-on-1 breakaway. Defenseman Christian Chartier picked up his 100th career assist in setting up Dzieduszycki's 33rd goal of the season.
In the second period, Las Vegas doubled the lead from two to four as Charles Linglet and Steve Crampton each netted a goal. Linglet struck at 4:24 as he tipped in a pass from Chris Kenady. Both players came down with a 2-on-1 advantage as Kenady set up Linglet's fourth goal of the season. Las Vegas made it 4-0 when Steve Crampton tied his career-high with his 19th goal of the season at 17:50. Crampton jammed home a rebound off a Christian Chartier power-play shot.
In the third period, Las Vegas extended their lead to 6-0 when Chris Neiszner scored two goals in ten seconds. Neiszner netted his first of two at 10:09 to make it 5-0 and added his second at 10:19 for the 6-0 lead. Neiszner set two team records by scoring the fastest two goals in team history and by scoring the two fastest goals by one player. Nick Anderson scored his ninth goal of the season on an unassisted-breakaway at 16:36. Phoenix center Shawn Snider spoiled Mike McKenna's shutout bid with 1:58 remaining in the contest for the 7-1 final.
The Wranglers will return home to host Long Beach Friday and Phoenix Saturday at 7:05 pm. The first 2,000 fans on Friday, April 7th receive a puck courtesy of Buffalo Wild Wings. Saturday, fans may attend the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party from 4:30 - 6:30 pm in the concourse of the Orleans Arena.
Playoff tickets are now available for the 2006 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Fans may purchase a strip of tickets that will include every home playoff game for as little as $200.00 per seat. Wranglers season ticket holders and mini-plan holders have the first right of refusal for their seats.
Tickets for all games are on sale now. Fans may purchase seats to all Wranglers home games at any of the following ticket locations: The Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast, South Coast and Suncoast, or at the Galleria Mall guest relations/ticket centers.
