'Blades get Adams back from Cleveland

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman John Adams has been reassigned to the club by the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League.

Adams, who was recalled by Cleveland on March 29, rejoins the Everblades after skating in three games with the Barons where he collected 10 penalty minutes. With the Everblades this season the 24-year-old has tallied 15 points (1g, 14a) and 66 PIM in 39 games.

This season, the rookie out of Boston College has played in 13 total AHL games between Springfield, Grand Rapids and Cleveland and has yet to tally a point while collecting 16 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, the native of Wayzata, Minnesota completed a four-year career at Boston College with 29 points in 136 games. Adams was drafted in the third round of the 2002 NHL entry draft by the Buffalo Sabres.

In addition, the Everblades released forward Eric Przepiorka. The 24-year-old rookie skated in five games with the Everblades and did not tally a point. Przepiorka signed with the Everblades on March 21 after completing the collegiate season with Dartmouth College where he notched a career high 32 points (9g, 23a) in 33 games with the Big Green this past season, helping lead Dartmouth to a share of the ECAC Championship.

The Everblades return to action tonight against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. from the The Arena at Gwinnett Center.
