Stingrays Drop The Playoff Puck Monday
April 4, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
South Carolina Stingrays News Release
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC- The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that the Kelly Cup Playoffs will begin on Monday, April 10th at 7:05 at the North Charleston Coliseum against either Charlotte or Augusta. Game two is slated for Tuesday evening on the road and if a game three is necessary it will be played at the Coliseum on Wednesday, April 12th at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Tickets will go on sale at the Coliseum Box Office on Thursday, April 6th at 10:00 AM. Fans can also purchase seats through ticketmaster at 554-6060.
"A three game series is exciting," commented Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons. "Anything can happen in such a short series, so we will have to be on top of our game right from the drop of the puck on Monday."
If the Rays can get through the first series, they would face either first place Gwinnett or second place Florida in the second round.
The Stingrays have clinched fourth place in the South Division. Charlotte needs one point (or an Augusta loss or tie) in their final two games to claim fifth place and a meeting with the South Carolina.
The Rays will wrap up the regular season on the road this week with games at Greenville on Tuesday, Gwinnett on Friday and Columbia on Saturday. The Stingrays have never missed the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
