Mole Runner-Up for ECHL Goalie Of The Week

SAN DIEGO - Michael Mole has been named a runner-up for ECHL Reebok Goalie of the Week honors, the ECHL announced Tuesday. Mole helped the Gulls to a 3-0-1 record last week, while only allowing three goals on 82 shots.

Mole played in two of the Gulls' four games last week. On Friday he stopped 44 of 45 shots in San Diego's 3-1 win in Las Vegas. Mole then turned in a 35-save performance Saturday, as the Gulls beat Idaho 3-2 in overtime.

For the week, Mole was 2-0-0 with a 1.47 goals-against average and .963 save percentage. The 6-foot, 183-pounder from Orleans, Ontario is now 19-29-4 overall with a 3.16 GAA and .904 save percentage this season. With the Gulls, he's 4-2-1 with a 2.54 GAA and .926 save percentage.

The 23-year-old goaltender is in his first professional season. Mole started the year with Phoenix before being traded to the Gulls on March 14. Mole currently ranks second among ECHL netminders with 3,041 minutes played and second with 1,508 saves.
