Big Comeback Over Sabercats

The Condors took an early 2-0 lead in this game, thanks to a pair from Jason Firth, which included a highlight-reel shorthanded goal worthy of SportsCenter. But Tacoma stormed back to tie the game 2-2 after the first. In the second, there was more from the Sabercats, who added another pair of goals for the 4-2 lead after 40 minutes. The third period was all Condors, however. Jeff Goldie made it 4-3, and Firth netted his third on the night to tie the game. Aaron Brand scored the game winner, and Mark Edmundson's empty net goal sent the Sabercats spinning by handing them a 6-4 loss. The Condors scored four times in the final 8:39 of play.

Idaho Picks Up Solid Win on Friday

The two teams came out hard to start the two-game set in Idaho on Friday night. After a scoreless first period, the Steelheads erupted for three goals in the first eight minutes of the second frame. The Condors settled down after that, but couldn't get on the scoreboard. With their recent third period rallies in mind, Bakersfield showed life in the final stanza when John Vary blasted home his 9th on the power play to make the score 3-1. It's as close as the Condors would get, despite 15 third period shots. Idaho added an empty net goal to take the 4-1 win and snap the Condors five game unbeaten streak.

Condors Strong, Upset Steelheads 5-3

Bakersfield got back on the winning track on Saturday, by handing the Steelheads a rare home loss. The Condors, behind goals from Jeff Goldie, Ryan Foster and Aaron Brand, jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Idaho came back strong, though, netting three straight goals to tie the game up and get the crowd back into it. Paul Rosebush silenced the Steelheads fans, however, and burst the Idaho bubble with his 19th of the season, less than four minutes after the game was tied up in the second period. He buried a nice feed from Jason Ralph for the eventual game winner. Luciano Caravaggio held Idaho off the board in the final frame, and Foster added an empty net goal for the 5-3 win. The loss was just the sixth all season on home ice for the Steelheads.
