LAST WEEK: Pee Dee went 3-1-0 with road wins over Macon and Augusta and a home win against the Lynx. The Pride's only loss came to South Carolina. Entering the final week of the regular season, the Pride are in second place of the Southeast Division with a record of 39-25-5 for 83 points. They are three points behind first-place Greenville and one point ahead of third-place Columbia.

Wednesday, March 20 @ Macon PRIDE 3 Whoopee 0

After a scoreless first period, the Pride got on the board just 1:48 into the second period on a Dany Bousquet power-play goal. It stayed that way until late in the third period, when Pee Dee added two goal over the final 3:09. Bousquet had the hot hand, scoring two goals and adding an assist. J. R. Prestifilippo made 19 saves to record his first professional shut-out.

Friday, March 22 @ Augusta PRIDE 3 Lynx 2

Pee Dee ended its four-game road swing with a perfect 4-0 record. Trailing 1-0 late in the second period, Gregor Krajnc scored a power play goal to tie the score. The Lynx would get a shorthanded goal from Scott Morrow with 7:35 remaining in regulation to go back on top. But, an Allan Sirois power-play goal 1:12 later tied it, and Matt Reid scored the game winner with 2:56 left. The Pride outshot the Lynx 37-21 for the game, and by an unbelieveable 20-0 margin in the second period.

Saturday, March 23 v. South Carolina Stingrays 7 PRIDE 6

The Pride's four-game winning streak came to an end in a wild game. Pee Dee had a 4-2 lead after one period, and was up 6-4 heading to the third. But South Carolina scored three goals just 2:57 midway through the third period to take the lead, and hold on for the win. Dany Bousquet had the hot hand despite the loss, scoring one goal and assisting on three others.

Sunday, March 24 v. Augusta PRIDE 4 Lynx 2

Augusta took a 1-0 lead just 23 seconds into the contest on a Jim Shepherd goal. But the Pride would score four answered goals, and held on for a 4-2 victory. J. R. Prestifilippo once again was strong in net, as he made 27 saves. Bousquet wrapped up his great week with a goal and two assists.

THIS WEEK'S GAMES

Tuesday, March 26 @ Greenville 7:05 p.m. Radio coverage at 6:50 on Sunny 105.5

Pee Dee wraps up the road portion of their schedule at the Bi-Lo Center against Greenville. The Pride are 3-3-0 against the Grrrowl this season, but are 0-2 at Greenville and have been outscored 10-3 in the two games. The Grrrowl are in first place of the Southeast with a 40-22-6 record for 86 points.

Friday, March 29 and Saturday March 30 v. Florida 7:30 p.m. at the Lion's Den

The Pride's final two games of the regular season both take place against Florida. The Pride have been successful against the Everblades this season, posting a 4-1-1 record, and 2-0 at home. In the two games at Florence, the Pride have outscored the Everblades 9-2. Florida is fighting for a post-season spot. Entering the week they are tied with South Carolina for fourth place in the division with 79 points, five ahead of sixth-place Augusta.

OTHER NOTES

TRIO EXTEND STREAKS

Dany Bousquet, Allan Sirois and Kevin Haupt all extended their scoring streaks this week. Bousquet now has an 11-game point streak over which he has scored seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points. He has at least one assist in each of the 11 games, which is the longest such streak in the league this season. Sirois and Haupt each have at least one point in the last seven games. Sirois has eight goals and five assists during the streak, while Haupt has no goals and nine assists during his streak.

NEW CAREER HIGH FOR SIROIS

With two goals against South Carolina on Saturday, Allan Sirois set a new career high for goals scored. He now has 36 goals on the season, one more than his previous best of 35, which came with the Pride in the 1998-99 season.

B. J.'S NIGHT

Defenseman B. J. Adams went 37 games between goals, scoring his first of the season on December 21 at Greenville, and not scoring again until Saturday against South Carolina. In the game against the Stingrays, Adams scored a pair of goals, and also contributed an assist.

FIRST SHUTOUT FOR PRESTO

J. R. Prestifilippo's 3-0 shutout at Macon on Wednesday was the fourth shutout this season for a Pride goaltender. It was the first professional shutout for the second year goaltender from Harvard.
