Johnstown Chiefs News Release
WEEKLY SUMMARY:
The Johnstown Chiefs (37-29-2; 76 PTS NW Div.) got a little closer to clinching their third straight playoff berth, after they won three straight games on the road last week. The Chiefs have won their last four straight games. The next Johnstown win or Wheeling loss will clinch a Kelly Cup playoff berth for the Chiefs. The Chiefs will play four games in five nights beginning Wednesday night at Cincinnati. Wheeling does not play again till Friday night at Reading.
GAME #66 (3/20/02) Johnstown 5 - Toledo 2 Roy Goal, Two Assists
The Chiefs began their five game road trip in convincing fashion, with a 5-2 win over the Toledo Storm Wednesday night. Philippe Roy lead the Chiefs with a goal and two assists. The Chiefs also got goals from Brent Bilodeau, Chad Onufrechuk, Dan Carlson, and David Gove. Frederic Deschenes made 36 saves for his 24 th win of the season.
GAME #67 (3/22/02) Johnstown 3 - PEORIA 1 Boutin Three Assists
Chiefs Left Wing J.F. Boutin haunted his former team Friday night as he figured in all three Johnstown goals as they defeated the Peoria Rivermen 3-1. Boutin assisted on the Rob Sandrock, Chad Onufrechuk, and David Gove goals. Dany Sabourin made 20 saves for his 12 th win of the season.
GAME #68 (3/23/02) Johnstown 4 - PEORIA 3 (SO) Schneider Two Goals, Assist
Dan Carlson's goal in the third round of the shootout lifted the Chiefs to their fourth win in a row Saturday night, when they defeated the Peoria Rivermen 4-3. The Chiefs went a perfect 6-0-0 against the Rivermen in the regular season. Eric Schneider scored two goals, and Jim Leger also tallied for the Chiefs. Frederic Deschenes made 38 saves for his 25 th win of the season.

The Chiefs are 5-2-1 against the Cyclones this season with three of those wins coming at Cincinnati's FirstStar Center. The Cyclones are red hot, going 7-1-2 in their last ten games, and currently hold the fourth and final playoff spot in the Northwest division leading fifth place Wheeling by one point. The Cyclones trail the Chiefs by four points for third place.

The Chiefs and the Toledo Storm (28-32-8; 64 PTS NW div.)meet for the tenth and final time this season. The Chiefs are 5-4-0 against Toledo this season. This is the last regular season road game for the Chiefs and it closes out their five game, ten day road trip. The Storm are currently in last place in the Northwest division trailing fifth place Wheeling by seven points.
Sat. Mar. 30 vs. Greensboro Generals 7:30 p.m. Radio: WSPO 850-AM
The Chiefs and the Greensboro Generals (22-38-8; 52 PTS NE div.)meet for the first and only time this season, Saturday night at the War Memorial. The Chiefs were 2-0-2 against the Generals last season and are 4-2-2 all-time. The Generals are currently in last place in the Northeast division. Greensboro has won a league worst, eight home games this season.
Sun. Mar. 31 vs. Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies 4:00 p.m. Radio: WSPO 850-AM
The Chiefs close out the regular season Easter Sunday when they face the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies (40-20-8; 88 PTS NE div.). The Chiefs are 2-2-0 against the Bullies this season with both wins coming at the War Memorial. The game is also Fan Appreciation Day. Thousands of dollars worth of prizes will be given away to fans at random.

â¢The Chiefs tied the franchise record for most wins (37) in a season with Saturday night's 4-3 (SO) win over Peoria. The 1993-94 team had 37 wins in a 68 game season. The Chiefs won their 37 th game in game #68 this season.
â¢Frederic Deschenes tied the franchise record for most wins (25) in a season (Smokey Reddick 1991-92; 64 game season).
â¢Brent Bilodeau now ranks third on the Chiefs all-time games played (202) list, trailing Lukas Smital (224) and Perry Florio (305).
