Local business provides Gulls tickets for students

SAN DIEGO - As part of the San Diego Gulls Adopt A School Program, Alliance Employment Solutions purchased several groups of tickets that have been distributed to two San Diego Area High Schools.

Alliance, a marketing partner with the Gulls became involved with the "Adopt-A-School" program as a means to provide local high school students the opportunity to experience a professional hockey game. The Gulls' "Adopt-A-School" program began in 1999 and was designed as a means for local businesses to become more involved with area schools. Tickets are purchased by the business and presented to the selected schools in a special assembly featuring both a Gulls player and a representative from the participating business.

In two special presentations, Poway High School and San Diego High School each received groups of tickets to four different games. The representatives from each school were ecstatic to have been chosen as the recipients of the tickets.

"We are so pleased that Alliance chose San Diego High School as the recipient of Gulls tickets. We plan to use the tickets as incentive for good attendance," said Activities Director Greg Williams.

San Diego now embarks on a four-game road trip, which starts Friday in Bakersfield at 7 p.m. The Gulls then play Saturday and Sunday in Tacoma before ending the trip April 3 in Long Beach. Five out of San Diego's final seven games are on the road. All games can be heard live on 1130AM-KSDO and at www.ksdo.com with Chris Ello calling the play-by-play.
