LAST WEEK:
3/22 GREENSBORO 0, CINCINNATI 5
¨ Greensboro allowed three early goals to the Cyclones to set the tone, as they were shut out for only the second time all season.
3/23 GREENSBORO 4, RICHMOND 1
¨ The Generals pounded the Renegades for 19 shots on net in the first period, getting all the goals they would need from Chris Brassard and Chris Bell for a 2-0 lead. The Renegades made things interesting with a power play goal early in the third period to cut the deficit to 2-1, but Frederic Henry would not be denied the victory in this game. He saved 35 of 36 shots on the evening, including several in the third period to keep Greensboro in the lead. The Generals wouldn't get their insurance goals until the final 90 seconds of the contest, with Jeff Zehr giving them some breathing room for a 3-1 lead, and Dennis Maxwell adding an empty net goal in the final minute. Shaun Peet was also a stellar performer for the Generals. He notched an assist and was on the ice for all four Generals goals for a +4 rating. The Generals victory officially eliminated the Renegades from the playoffs.
