Columbus Clippers News Release
The Columbus Clippers won their ninth game of the season Thursday evening at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse, convincingly defeating the Mets 9-1.
A six-run 8th inning put the game out of reach for Columbus, highlighted by Daniel Schneemann's bases loaded triple.
Kyle Manzardo added three hits and a pair of runs batted in. He now leads the Clippers on the season with a .308 batting average.
Starting pitcher Adam Oller (1-1) allowed just one run on two hits over 6.0 innings to secure his first victory of the season.
The series between the Clippers and Mets in Syracuse continues Friday with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35pm. Columbus returns home on April 30 when the Toledo Mud Hens come to town for Tanksy Tuesday Dime-A-Dog Night. Tickets are available at ClippersBaseball.com.
