
Blue Jackets Trade Defenseman Jamie Pushor

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have traded defenseman Jamie Pushor to the New York Rangers for an eighth round selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Pushor, 30, has tallied one goal, four assists, 24 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 17 games with the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, this season. After attending training camp with the Toronto Maple Leafs this fall, he signed with Syracuse on November 18. Pushor also saw action with the Blue Jackets, appearing in seven games and collecting two penalty minutes and minus two rating.
In two stints with the Blue Jackets Pushor registered three goals and 16 assists for 19 points with 150 penalty minutes in 143 games with the club during the 2000-01, 2001-02 and 2003-04 season. The Lethbridge, Alberta native has logged 510 games during his NHL career, tallying 13-44-57 and 648 penalty minutes with the Penguins, Blue Jackets, Stars, Anaheim Mighty Ducks and Detroit Red Wings. Detroit's second pick, 32nd overall, in the 1991 Entry Draft, he spent nearly five years in the Red Wings organization and was a member of their 1997 Stanley Cup championship squad.
Syracuse travels to Houston on Saturday, January 24 (8 p.m. EST) and San Antonio on Sunday, January 25 (6 p.m. EST) for their first-ever appearance in both cities.
