Thrashers Crave 'Hungry Man'

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled center Brian Swanson from the Chicago Wolves.

Swanson is the fourth Wolves forward to join the Thrashers in the last month, and is one of nine Wolves to play for Atlanta this season. Swanson ranks fourth on the club with 10 goals and 17 assists, and ranks third on the team with 27 points in 42 games this season. He also shares the team-lead with three game-winning goals.

Last season, the Eagle River, Alaska, native tallied two goals, 10 assists and 12 points in a career-high 44 National Hockey League games with the Edmonton Oilers. Overall, Swanson has recorded four goals, 12 assists and 16 points in 68 NHL games with the Oilers spanning three seasons (2000-2003).

The 27-year-old forward, who signed with Atlanta as a free agent on July 24, 2003, has played parts of four seasons in the AHL, tallying 71 goals, 108 assists and 179 points in 187 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (1998-99) and Hamilton Bulldogs (1999-2002).
