Canucks Assign King to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have assigned forward Jason King to the Manitoba Moose.

In 43 games with the Canucks this season, King has 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points. He has also collected eight penalty minutes. King was named NHL Rookie of the Month for November, where he registered eight goals and 11 points, including points in 10 of 14 games.

The 22-year old played in 67 games with the Moose last season as a rookie and scored 20 goals and 40 points to go along with 15 penalty minutes. He also participated in eight games for the Canucks, registering two assists. In his NHL career, King has played 51 games, scoring 11 goals and adding 10 assists for 21 points.

King scored a league-leading 63 goals in his final year of junior hockey with the Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL). Over a three-year junior career, he racked up 198 points (114 goals, 84 assists) in 186 games.

King was Vancouver's fifth choice, 212th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
