Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons Hockey Club has partnered with Friendly's Restaurants to announce Family Fun Nights that will be held on select Monday evenings from 5-8 p.m. at various Friendly's Restaurants. Family Fun Nights will kick off this Monday Night, January 26th at 65 Sumner Avenue in Springfield. Family Fun Nights will feature Falcons players and Screech, the team's lovable mascot, as your hosts with a portion of the sales from each event benefiting the Jennifer Ferraro Foundation and Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc. The selected Monday dates are listed below.
The Jennifer Ferraro Foundation was established in memory of Jennifer Ferraro, who lost her courageous battle with stomach cancer in November 2002. The foundation assists patients with stomach and other cancers at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, and Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Her husband, Chris, and brother-in-law, Peter, play for Springfield and serve as Co-Captains of the team.
Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc. supports local children's charities throughout Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. In the past seven years, Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc. has donated over $350,000 to the community.
"I am so thrilled we were able to put this together," said Carole Appleton, Falcons' Director of Marketing. "We really wanted to be creative in our fundraising for the Jennifer Ferraro Foundation and with these events at Friendly's and our Team Jennifer Night coming up on March 13th, I think we have accomplished it."
