7-5 Loss Suddenly Gives Chihuahuas a Skid

The Salt Lake Bees beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 7-5 Friday in the first meeting of the season between the two teams. El Paso has lost two games in a row for the first time since April 9-10 at Tacoma.

Austin Allen went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, his fourth homer of the season. Esteban Quiroz also went deep for El Paso in his first game since April 15 after missing a few weeks with a stint on the Injured List. The Chihuahuas' season home run total moved to 68, the most in all of professional baseball.

Relievers Phil Maton, Robert Stock and Carlos Torres all pitched scoreless outings for the Chihuahuas Friday. Each of the last five Chihuahuas games have been decided by one or two runs.
