From the Notes
Davidson is Goliath: Matt Davidson hit his 11th home run of the season Friday night, a solo home run off left-hander Tommy Layne. It was Davidson's 7th home home run in his last 10 games. In that span (since April 24), he is tied for the Pacific Coast League in home runs with Albuquerque's Pat Valaika. Davidson's home run also kept Nashville's home run streak, who have now hit at least one home run in the last 10 games.
A Night to Forget: In the 17-2 loss Friday night, Nashville tied a franchise record by allowing 24 hits to Memphis batters. The last time the Sounds allowed that many hits was on August 25, 2014 versus Sacramento. The first time Nashville allowed that many hits was on May 27, 2012 versus Round Rock. Sounds' hitters also struck out a season-high 15 times, which was two strikeouts shy of tying the team record of 17.
Wisdom Finding His Way: Despite not the slow start in the hit column this year, Nashville infielder Patrick Wisdom is finding his way on base. Wisdom has reached safely in all 8 games he has played in for Nashville and has an on-base percentage of 148 points higher than his batting average (.286 to .138). Wisdom has drawn 5 walks and has been hit by a pitch in his 7 games. He currently sports a 15-game on-base streak as a Pacific Coast League player going back to August 7, 2018, where he finished 2018 with Memphis on a 8-game on-base streak. He is tied-for-10th as having the longest active on-base streak in the league.
