December 22, 2025 - TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts announced the team has re-signed LB Jack Cassar and DB Benjie Franklin. The team also signed OL Rush Reimer.
Cassar (6"4"/240lbs) played 12 games in 2025 and chipped in with seven special teams tackles, two defensive tackles, and one forced fumble. The Mississauga native was a second-round pick of the Argos in 2020 and has been a special teams standout in his five seasons wearing Double Blue. Ready (6'1"/205lbs) was a first-team OUA all-star in 2025 after hauling in 43 passes for 868 yards and six scores for the Carleton Ravens. The Arnprior, Ontario native, finished second in the conference in receiving yards, third in yards per catch (20.2), fourth in touchdowns, and fifth in receptions. Guillemette, 6'0"/220lbs, played sixteen games for the Boatmen last season and has established himself as one of the best long snappers in the game. The Holy Cross alum and Cambridge native was drafted by Toronto in the third round of the 2023 CFL Draft and played in all 18 games during his rookie season. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming to Toronto and BMO Field, the Argos will be playing three "home games" in Saskatchewan (Week 4), Winnipeg (Week 6), and Hamilton (Week 7). The team will return home to a revamped lakefront stadium with numerous improvements to the fan experience, including new premium spaces, improved game presentation LED lighting, new PA/speakers, and more.
