Wolves Larose Garners Player of the Week Honors

Chicago Wolves center CORY LAROSE has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 17, 2006, becoming already the third player on the squad to be honored with the award this season.

LAROSE notched 11 points (5G, 6A) in three games last week, which includes becoming the first player in franchise history to record consecutive five-point outings on Tuesday and Friday.

The 31-year-old forward netted an AHL career-high five points with a hat trick and two assists in Tuesday's 7-3 win against Iowa then followed it up by notching two goals and three helpers in Friday's 9-1 victory over Omaha. He finished the week by dishing out an assist in Saturday's shootout loss against Milwaukee.

The Campbellton, New Brunswick, native ranks third on the squad with 19 points (7G, 12A) and has accrued 20 penalty minutes and a +8 plus/minus rating in 13 contests this season. LAROSE has appeared in 322 career AHL games, racking up 105 goals, 165 assists, 270 points and 280 penalty minutes from 2001 to 2006 with the Houston Aeros, Hartford Wolfpack and Wolves.

LAROSE registered 63 points (26G, 37A) in 80 games in 2004-05 during his first stint with the Wolves. That year, he tied for first on the team with 12 postseason points (6G, 6A) to help lead Chicago to an appearance in the 2005 Calder Cup Finals.

LAROSE joins DARREN HAYDAR and JASON KROG as the team's third player to be honored with AHL player of the week honors this season. Haydar captured the award for the period ending Oct. 22, 2006 while KROG earned it for the period ending Nov. 5, 2006.

In recognition of his achievement, LAROSE will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Wolves home game.
