OLD FOES GET BEST OF CRUNCH: Former Crunch players Andy Delmore (Springfield) and goaltender Andrew Penner (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton) played key roles in their respective teams' victories against Syracuse this past weekend.
Delmore tallied the game-winning goal and one assist en route to first star honors in the Falcons 4-1 victory over the Crunch on Friday night. Delmore's goal came in the second period giving Springfield a 2-1 lead. Through 28 games this season, Delmore has 17 points (8g, 9a) and 12 penalty minutes.
Penner stopped 33 of Syracuse's 35 shots and was named third star as the Penguins defeated the Crunch 3-2 on Sunday night. In his previous meeting against Syracuse, Penner allowed four goals in the Crunch's win over the Penguins. Penner has appeared in 14 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a 10-3-0-1 record, a 2.74 goals against average and an .898 save percentage.
FRASER RELEASED FROM P.T.O.: The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have released defenseman Jamie Fraser from his professional try-out contract.
Fraser, 21, appeared in two games with Syracuse without recording a point. A native of Sarnia, Ontario, Fraser has 23 games under his belt this season with South Carolina (ECHL), tallying 5 goals, 21 assists and 6 penalty minutes.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
ALBANY (CAROLINA HURRICANES/COLORADO AVALANCHE): Syracuse hosts Albany on Saturday, December 23 for the second of eight regular season meetings. Syracuse leads the series 1-0 with a 4-2 win over Albany on November 17 at Pepsi Arena. Center Andrew Murray leads all players in head-to-head scoring with two points (1g, 1a). Several River Rats players have one point each in head-to-head scoring. Goaltender Ty Conklin posted the victory, recording 31 saves. Tyler Weiman posted 28 saves for Albany in the loss. Lifetime, the Crunch are 43-37-9 against the River Rats.

Crunch Players to Sign Autographs at Tully's: The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Crunch players Joakim Lindstrom and Geoff Platt will be at Tully's in North Syracuse on December 19 from 6-7 p.m. to sign autographs.
Lindstrom and Platt will be available on Tuesday, December 19 from 6 -7 p.m. at the Tully's located at 7838 Brewerton Road in North Syracuse to sign autographs and take pictures. Call 452- 5656 for directions.

Celebrity Bartending Series Continues at Chadwicks: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Labatt's, announced that the Labatt's Celebrity Bartending Series will continue on Wednesday, December 20 at Chadwicks.
Crunch players Andy Canzanello, Steven Goertzen and Darcy Verot will serve as celebrity bartenders at Chadwicks from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20. Chadwicks is located on 2529 James Street. Call 431-0530 for directions.
All tips generated by the players that night will be donated to the University Children's Hospital.
South Beach Diet Promotion: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Quickway, announced the details of the South Beach Diet Promotion.
Through the month of December, fans that purchase a South Beach Diet Bar at a Quickway location will be able to bring their Quickway register receipt to the Crunch box office to receive a $6 ticket off any $16 Friday night ticket.
Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year Program: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Time Warner Cable, introduced the Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year program to salute the hockey moms who dedicate their time and energy to taking their kids to hockey practices through all kinds of weather and at all hours.
During the 2006-07 season, youth hockey kids will be encouraged to nominate their mom as the Time Warner Cable Hockey Mom of the Year. The child must write an essay, up to 250 words, giving reason why their mom is Hockey Mom of the Year. The application can be mailed, emailed or dropped off at the Crunch office
A panel of judges, including Crunch/Time Warner Cable management and Crunch players will select one (1) winner each month. Each monthly winner will receive four (4) tickets to a Crunch game, the opportunity to participate in a ceremonial face-off, a prize pack from Time Warner Cable and a post game tour of the locker room for up to four (4) people.
All winners will be eligible to win the Grand Prize, which includes a one-year membership to Gold's Gym, a spa gift certificate and dinner for two (2) to an area restaurant. Applications are available on the Crunch's official website and at the Advance Auto Parts Guest Service Center at all Crunch home games.
Poland Spring 'Stick Child for a Game' Program: The Syracuse Crunch announced the details of the Poland Spring 'Stick Child for a Game' program.
During the 2006-07 season, Crunch fans between the ages of seven (7) and fifteen (15) will have the opportunity to sign up to become the Poland Spring 'Stick Child for a Game'.
Selected fans will win a special and unique look into what goes on 'behind the scenes' of a professional hockey game by serving as a stick child for a game. Interested fans can sign-up at the Advance Auto Parts Guest Service Center, located outside the Crunch's main office during games.
Winners will be selected and notified throughout the season. In addition to serving as a stick child, each participant will receive a Poland Spring and Crunch shirt.
CRUNCHABLES: Defenseman Andy Canzanello tallied his first goal of the season on Friday night at Springfield... The combined 100 penalty minutes recorded in the Crunch's game against Hamilton on Saturday night set a season high for most penalty minutes in one game. Left wing Darcy Verot contributed to those numbers registering 24 himself, setting a new season high for most penalty minutes by a player in a game... Defenseman Marc Methot is three games shy of 100 career AHL games, all with Syracuse... Left wing Mark Hartigan's next assist will be his 100th in a Crunch uniform.
