SANTA SACKS GOING FAST
The 2006 Phantoms Santa Sacks are still available for your favorite hockey fan, but quantities are limited! For just $70, Santa Sacks include four tickets to a January Phantoms game and a special Phantoms stick signed by one of nine Phantoms alumni - Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Antero Niitymaki, Ben Eager, Joni Pitkanen, Freddy Meyer, Alexandre Picard, R.J. Umberger, or Randy Jones! Also available are two special coaches sticks - one signed by Flyers head coach John Stevens and assistant Craig Berube, or one signed by two Stanley Cup winners - Phantoms head coach Kjell Samuelsson and assistant Joe Mullen. Santa sacks are available now at phantomshockey.com. Quantities of each player are limited, so order today!
HANDPRINTS A HIT
The Phantoms helped raise over $6,000 for the Children's Miracle Network at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia through the sale of "Helping Hands" cards via auction at Sunday's game. Phantoms players used paint to make handprints on 11x14 cards, which were then framed and put up for auction. Also included in the auction were coaches Kjell Samuelsson and Joe Mullen and Flyers players Peter Forsberg, Antero Niittymaki, Mike Richards, and now former Flyer Freddy Meyer.
CHUCK YOUR PUCKS
Phantoms Charities continues this Friday with its Chuck O' Puck promotion in the second intermission. The Phantoms Wives are sponsoring the event, which will happen at every Friday game over the rest of the season. Pucks are $2 apiece or three for $5, and fans can use their skill to toss those pucks on the ice in the second intermission. The puck closest to the target will win half of the monies raised on the evening, while the other half will go to Phantoms Charities.
PHANTOMS TO HELP KIDS FROM ACHIEVABILITY
This week, the Phantoms are teaming up with the United Way to give gifts to kids currently in housing at AchievAbility, a Philadelphia agency that helps families move from homelessness to housing and self-sufficiency. Each player has been assigned a child and is providing one to three gifts off a list the child submitted. The kids are being bussed from Philadelphia to the Flyers practice facility in Voorhees, NJ through a bus donated by Academy Bus Tours. The players will have a pizza party and gift-giving with the kids following practice.
CHOP WELCOMES PHANTOMS
Also this week, the Phantoms will make their annual holiday visit to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The entire team will make its way through the facility on Thursday beginning at 1:15 PM to greet children there.
PHANTOMS NOTABLES
Martin Houle was recalled by the Flyers today and Rejean Beauchemin was returned to the Phantoms. Those marked the 89th and 90th transactions of the season for the Phantoms. Last year, the Phantoms had 166 transactions for the entire season... Sean Collins played the weekend for the Phantoms after signing a PTO on Friday night. He had three assists and an even rating in three games before being sent back to ECHL Wheeling following Sunday's game. Collins was in second place on the ECHL scoring list when he joined the Phantoms on Friday... Jeff Corey of Toronto and Tony Voce of Philadelphia participated in an honorary puck drop on Sunday. Corey is a native of the Philly suburb of Boothwyn, and both Corey and Voce are graduates of the Philadelphia Little Flyers. A player from the Little Flyers dropped the first puck.
