Johnstown, PA - The Wheeling Nailers (4-7-0) had their three-game winning streak come to an end, 4-2, on Friday night at the hands of the Johnstown Chiefs (6-7-1) at the Cambria County War Memorial. Adam Henrich broke a 1-1 tie just 20 seconds into the third period and propelled the Chiefs to a big final frame.

After a scoreless first period, Ryan Gibbons opened the scoring with assists to Ian MacLean and the zamboni door. Just over two minutes into the second, MacLean's dump-in wrapped along the boards, bounced off the crack in the boards and slid into the slot. Andy Franck was out of his net to stop the puck that never came. The puck wound up on the stick of Gibbons who wrested it into the empty net.

That goal would stand until the final second of the period. Tim Wallace scored his second goal of the season at the 20:00 mark. On the power play, Sean Collins and Kurtis McLean combined to send the puck in front that Wallace banged home as the horn sounded.

Henrich's early tally in the third gave the Chiefs a lead that they would never relinquish. Randy Rowe scored just under six minutes later and Zbynek Hrdel scored six minutes after to increase the Chiefs' lead to three.

Jordan Cameron's blast from the top of the circle with just 39 seconds to play brought the Nailers within two but that would be it for the Wheeling offense. McLean and Collins both had two assists as the Nailers outshot the Chiefs 31-30. Wheeling killed off seven of the eight Johnstown power plays.

The Nailers will play in Cincinnati on Saturday night. The Nailers are 2-0-0 against the Cyclones, both wins coming last weekend in their first trip to Cincinnati. The Cyclones have lost five straight.

Wheeling will return home on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 7:00pm. It will be Steelers Night as the Nailers welcome Super Bowl Champions Jeff Reed and Bryant McFadden to the arena for their game with the Trenton Titans. For ticketing information call (304) 234-GOAL or visit www.wheelingnailers.com.
