Texas Wildcatters News Release
Beaumont, TX - The Texas Wildcatters rallied again in the third period to force overtime and earn a point, but fell in the extra frame 6 to 5 to the Augusta Lynx in front of a crowd of 1,723 at Ford Arena. Marco Rosa scored two goals for the second time in as many games, but Augusta's Louis Goulet stole the show, scoring four times including the game winner in overtime.
The Wildcatters came out strong scoring twice in the opening frame on goals from Rosa and Baker, but the Lynx tied it late in the period with two goals in a span of 21 seconds. Goulet would score all three Augusta goals in the second period for the hat trick. Bayrack and Proulx netted goals in the period and going into the third, the âCatters trailed by one. Rosa tied things up shorthanded just 45 seconds into the period, but Goulet's overtime winner at 3:43 ended the âCatters comeback. Matt Yeats made eight saves to help the Wildcatters force overtime in relief of starting goaltender Miroslav Kopriva who gave up five goals on 28 Augusta shots. The Wildcatters out shot Augusta 42 to 37 in the loss.
