Toledo Walleye News Release
Reading, PA) The Toledo Storm (7-3-0) were defeated by the Reading Royals (4-4-3) 3-2 tonight 6-3.
For the third straight game, Toledo allowed the first goal as Reading Roman Teslyuk scored his second goal of the year at 5:51. Teslyuk scored the goal on a one-timer from the blue line that beat Storm goaltender Dominic Vicari. Reading led 1-0 after the first period of play.
The Storm bounced back midway through the second period when Richard Colwill beat Ryan Munce, in for an injured Yutaka Fukufuji at the start of the second, low on the glove hand side for his second goal of the season. Gerry Burke drew the only assist on the tying goal for Toledo at 10:39. Reading would reclaim the lead at 13:07 of the second when Shawn Collymore netted his first of three-second period goals by the former Storm forward.
Toledo tied the game at 2 at 15:00, when a Matt Zultek one-timer of a Jamie Tardif face off win beat Munce. For Zultek, it was his fourth goal of the season. Collymore banged a rebound past Vicari at 16:52 for a Reading 3-2 lead, and when he put the finishing touches on a Arpad Mihaly pass at 19:21, Collymore had three goals in 6 minutes 14 seconds. The Royals led 4-2 heading to the third period.
Colwill collected his second goal of the game at 1:25 of the third period to bring the Storm within one 4-3. Nick Parillo fed a perfect pass through the Reading crease, which Colwill did not miss, scoring his third goal of the year. The game remained a one-goal affair until 15:41 when Reading extended its lead on a Joe Zappala goal. Malcolm MacMillan ended the scoring at 17:25 of the third.
Dominic Vicari, making his first start since November 3rd, made 29 saves in a losing effort. The shots ended at 35 for both teams.
