February 6, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI-Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Shea Weber (SHAY WEHB-uhr) from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Weber, 20 (8/14/85), has one assist in four games with the Predators this season. The 6-3, 213-pound Sicamous, B.C. native made his NHL debut with Nashville on January 6 vs. Detroit and posted his first NHLpoint/assist on January 15 vs. Pittsburgh. Weber leads AHL rookie defensemen in scoring with 25 points (11g-14a) in 41 games this season and is tied for second among AHL blueliners in goals (11) and power-play goals (8).
Currently playing in his first pro season, Weber was the 2005 Western Hockey League playoff MVP for the WHL Champion Kelowna Rockets and was also named the runner-up for the WHL's 2004-05 Bill Hunter Memorial Trophy (defenseman of the year). He was originally a second-round selection (49th overall) of the Predators in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
The Admirals will play a morning game against the division leading Houston Aeros on Tuesday with face-off set for 11:00 am. The next Milwaukee home game is Friday, February 10th at 7:00 pm versus the Iowa Stars. The first 5,000 fans will receive a Cinch Sack, courtesy of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
