Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - As part of the Grand Rapids Griffins' "Charitable Goals" program, center Donald MacLean will make a special lunchtime visit to Straight Elementary School (850 Chatham St.) on Tuesday, Feb. 7 from noon-1 p.m.
GM Wood Products sponsors MacLean through Charitable Goals, pledging $100 for each goal he scores to Straight Elementary School. Through the efforts of MacLean, who leads the American Hockey League with 34 goals, the donation for the inner-city school has already reached $3,400.
In a continuation of its commitment, GM Wood Products on Tuesday will provide all 280 students with a custom-designed T-shirt, featuring the Griffins' logo on the front and MacLean's name and jersey number (#10) on the back. One day later this month, the company will also purchase lunch for the entire school.
