Forward Earns Six Points in Two Games, Named Player of the Week

Milwaukee, WI- The American Hockey League announced today that Milwaukee Admirals left wing Scottie Upshall has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 5, 2006. In two games last week, Upshall posted six points (4g-2a), including a hat trick, and was +5 as the Admirals picked up three of a possible four points versus the top two teams in the Western Conference.

On Friday the Fort McMurray, ALTA native posted a goal and an assist as the Ads fell to Grand Rapids 5-4 in OT. Saturday night Upshall almost single handedly beat the Houston Aeros to pull Milwaukee within four points of Aeros in the West. Nashville's first pick in the 2002 NHL Draft notched his second hat trick (3g) of the season, an assist, was +4 and to top it off scored in the shoot-out as the Ads won 6-5.

In recognition of his achievement, Upshall will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Admirals home game.

A member of the Admirals 2004 Calder Cup Championship Team, Upshall has 29 points (16g-13a) and is an impressive +14 in only 14 games with the Ads this season. He has played in 32 contests with the Predators this year, posting 13 points (4g-9a) and 28 penalty minutes.

The Admirals will play a morning game against the division leading Houston Aeros on Tuesday with face-off set for 11:00 am. The next Milwaukee home game is Friday, February 10th at 7:00 pm versus the Iowa Stars. The first 5,000 fans will receive a Cinch Sack, courtesy of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
