NORFOLK, VA - Following last week's All-Star break, the Admirals faced the Binghamton Senators twice at Scope, with each team coming away with a win. On Friday, February 3rd, Matt Keith led the Admirals with three points as Norfolk held off a Binghamton comeback bid to win 6-4. In a penalty-filled game the next evening, the B-Sens notched two five-on-three power play tallies in the second period to defeat Norfolk 2-1.

The Admirals visit Hershey on Wednesday before hosting Springfield for a pair this weekend.

STANDINGS At 24-18-2-3 (53 pts), Norfolk is currently tied for third in the East with Bridgeport (24-22-3-2, 53 pts). The division is led by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (35-7-3-2, 75 pts), followed by Hershey in second (30-12-2-7, 69 pts). Philadelphia (18-25-1-5, 42 pts) is in fifth and Binghamton (18-25-2-2, 40 pts) sits sixth.

TEAM NOTEBOOK - Norfolk has scored at least one first period goal in 14 consecutive games (since January 7th vs. Lowell). During that stretch, the Admirals have netted at least two tallies in the opening period 11 times. - In the Admirals' 2-1 loss to Binghamton on Feb. 4th, all three goals were scored during a 5-on-3 power play. - The game on February 4th was the first in eight matches that Norfolk was held to fewer than three goals. - Denis Hamel's hat trick for Binghamton on February 3rd was the first hat trick registered against the Admirals since Bridgeport's Justin Papineau netted three tallies on April 1, 2005. - Dustin Byfuglien has six points (1g, 5a) in the last seven games (since January 22nd). - Shawn Thornton has collected 1+5=6 points in the past six matches (since January 25th). - Matt Keith scored goals (5g) in four consecutive games (1/27 - 2/3), the longest goal streak by an Admiral this year. - On February 3rd, Corey Crawford was reassigned to Norfolk and Scott Reid was released from PTO. - James Wisniewski made his NHL debut with Chicago vs. St. Louis on February 2nd.
