LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
Vs. Springfield (2/3): The Manchester Monarchs dominated the Springfield Falcons in a 4-2 victory at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. Defenseman Richard Seeley scored his first goal of the season and right wing Brad Smyth collected his team leading 22nd goal of the season for the Monarchs. Centers Greg Hogeboom and Matt Ryan also tallied for Manchester. Defenseman Timo Helbling and left wing Chris Dingman scored goals for the Falcons. Monarchs goaltender Adam Hauser was replaced after the first period by Barry Brust. Hauser stopped seven of the nine shots he faced while Brust shutout the Falcons with 17 saves in two periods of play. Springfield's goaltender Gerald Coleman stopped 19 shots in the loss. Manchester went 0-for-4 on the power play. Springfield was 1-for-4 with the man advantage.
Vs. Hamilton (2/4): Left wing Brad Winchester scored the overtime goal to lift the Hamilton Bulldogs over the Manchester Monarchs, 2-1, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday night. The game was all tied up after 60-minutes of play with right wing Duncan Milroy capitalizing for the Bulldogs and center Connor James finding the back of the net for the Monarchs. Manchester's goaltender Barry Brust took the loss with 29 saves. Bulldogs goaltender Yann Danis earned his 12th win of the season stopping 16 shots. Manchester went 0-for-4 on the power play. Hamilton was 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

MONARCHS EVENTS & PROMOTIONS
Webster House 2/7/06: Defenseman Mark Ardelan, center Greg Hogeboom, defenseman Richard Petiot and defenseman Reagan Rome will be at the Webster House on Tuesday, February 7 from 3-4:30 p.m. to hang out and sign autographs for the 21 youngsters, age 8-18, that reside there.

The Manchester Monarchs (28-14-2-4, 62 points) are in second place in the Atlantic Division. The Portland Pirates (29-13-4-3, 65 points) are three points ahead of the Monarchs to lead the Atlantic Division.
The club has sent 17 out of their 48 games into overtime and/or a shootout this season, winning 12 out of those 17 games.
Manchester is 7-4 in shootouts and 5-1 in overtime games this season.
The Monarchs are undefeated at home on Sundays (4-0-0-0).
At home, the Monarchs are undefeated in regulation when they are leading after the second period (7-0-0-0) and in one-goal games (9-0-2-2).
Manchester is undefeated (9-0-0-0) when they score five or more goals.
With special teams, the Monarchs power play is ranked 24th in the League, capitalizing 39 times on 283 opportunities with the man advantage. Ranked 16th in penalty killing, Manchester has given up 52 goals on 305 opportunities.
Manchester has the lowest number of penalty minutes in the AHL with 779 penalty minutes.
The Monarchs lead the AHL in attendance after 23 home games, averaging 8,595 fans per game.
Right wing Brad Smyth (22-28=50) leads the team with 22 goals, 28 assists and 50 points.
At 6-foot, 200-pounds and a native of Ottawa, Ontario, Smyth's 50 points are tied for 11th among the AHL's top scorers.
Smyth is tied for sixth place in the AHL with a plus/minus of plus-16.
In Friday's 4-2 Monarchs victory over the Springfield Falcons, Smyth earned his 50th point of the season when he scored the insurance goal at 11:32 of the second period. Smyth has recorded at least 50 points in an AHL seasons eight times during his career.
Left wing Jeff Tambellini is second in team scoring for the Monarchs with 46 points (21-25=46).
A former University of Michigan Wolverine, Tambellini is ranked third in the AHL among rookie scorers (46 points), fourth among rookie goal scorers (21) and is tied for fifth among rookies in assists (25).
Tambellini is tied for third among AHL rookies and tied for sixth in the AHL with his plus/minus of plus-16.
The rookie from Port Moody, British Columbia, represented Manchester at the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on January 31 and February 1. Tambellini was a member of the Canadian team.
Right wing Petr Kanko is tied for third place in the AHL with three shorthanded goals on the season.
Goaltender Adam Hauser is tied for seventh place among AHL goaltenders with 15 wins.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Bovey, Minnesota, leads the league with a shootout record of 5-2.
Goaltender Barry Brust has been between the pipes for 11 of the last 17 Monarchs games going 7-4-0 in those 11 games. The 6-foot-2, 216-pound native of Swan River, Manitoba, has compiled a record of 11-5-1, a goals-against-average of 2.46 and a save-percentage of 0.921 in 17 games this season.
Brust is also ranked sixth among AHL goaltenders with a goals-against-average of 2.46.
Defenseman Denis Grebeshkov represented Manchester at the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on January 31 and February 1. Grebeshkov, a member of PlanetUSA, recorded an assist in the All-Star game. This was the native of Yaroslavl, Russia's second consecutive All-Star appearance.
