Today Aaron Gavey was named the Pirates Player of the Week. Gavey scored the game-winning goal and added three assists on Friday in the Pirates 6-3 win over Hamilton. On Wednesday, Gavey will join "The Morning Jab" on WJAB 1440AM/95.5FM at 8:00 a.m. On Wednesday, the Pirates begin a three game road trip that starts in Binghamton on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. This season, fans can watch all Portland Pirates games live on the internet by clicking on B2 Networks logo. All games are also broadcast live on the U.S. Cellular, Big Jab, Pirates Radio Network WJAB 1440AM/95.5FM Next home game: Wednesday, February 15th vs. Lowell at 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call the Civic Center Box Office at (207) 775-3458. UPCOMING PROMOTIONS Wednesday, February 15th vs. Lowell 7:05 p.m. - University of Southern Maine Night! USM alumni, students, faculty, and staff are invited to take advantage of discounted tickets. Sunday, February 19th vs. Hartford- "A Day of Hockey"
9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Salty Pete's "Skate for the Kids" (2½ hours) 12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Cheverus High School vs. Cape Elizabeth High School 4:05 p.m. Portland Pirates vs. Hartford Wolf Pack During Intermission: High school players from around the state will compete in two skills compete in two skills competitions during each of the two intermissions at the Pirates game. The four skill contests will be hardest shot, fastest skater, shot accuracy and stick handling/agility. On Monday, February 13th, Pirates players, Trevor Gillies, Dieter Kochan will be scooping ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery in Brunswick from 7:00-8:30 p.m. On the same night, Igor Pohanka and Ladislav Smid will be scooping ice cream at the Cold Stone Creamery in Portland from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Cold Stone is donating $.50 per cone and $3.00 per cake to the Pirates "A Day of Hockey" to benefit the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center throughout the week of February 13th-19th. On Tuesday, February 28th, two Pirates players will visit the Acton Elementary School to present the Pirates "Goals for Success" program. The "Goals for Success" program is sponsored by Healthy Maine Partnerships and Pepsi.
